Mercedes Lackey

Mercedes R. Lackey (born June 24, 1950) is an American author best known for her prolific work in fantasy fiction, including the long-running Heralds of Valdemar series. She has published well over a hundred novels and numerous short stories, often collaborating with other writers. Lackey has worked in a variety of fantasy subgenres and is noted for explorations of social themes within fantastical settings. She lives in Oklahoma and has been active in the speculative fiction community for decades.
