Charles P. Brandt (March 13, 1942 – October 22, 2024) was an American investigator, attorney, and author best known for I Heard You Paint Houses, a narrative nonfiction account of Frank Sheeran that served as the basis for Martin Scorsese's 2019 film The Irishman. A former state prosecutor and defense lawyer, Brandt combined investigative work and legal experience to produce several books on organized crime and high-profile investigations.
