George Samuel Clason (November 7, 1874 – April 7, 1957) was an American writer and businessman best known for The Richest Man in Babylon, a collection of parables about thrift and financial success first published as pamphlets beginning in 1926. He founded the Clason Map Company of Denver and published the first road atlas of the United States and Canada. His Babylonian parables were widely distributed by banks and insurance companies and have become a long-standing classic in personal finance and self-help literature.
