Gary D. Chapman (born January 10, 1938) is an American author, Baptist minister, and counselor best known for creating the "Five Love Languages" concept and writing The Five Love Languages series, a long-running bestseller offering practical relationship and marriage guidance. He has served as a pastor, written numerous books applying the love languages to different audiences (children, singles, men, the workplace), and speaks and leads seminars worldwide.
