Michael Hague (1948–2026) was a renowned American illustrator known for his intricate, realistic, and richly colored artwork, particularly in the realm of children's fantasy and classic literature. Influenced by turn-of-the-century illustrators like Arthur Rackham and N.C. Wyeth, as well as Disney and Japanese printmakers, he illustrated numerous beloved classics, including 'The Wind in the Willows', 'The Hobbit', 'The Wizard of Oz', and 'Peter Pan'. He was a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and spent much of his career living and working in Colorado Springs.
