Anita Rau Badami is a Canadian novelist of Indian descent, born in Rourkela, Odisha, India. She immigrated to Canada in 1991. Her critically acclaimed novels, which have been translated into numerous languages, often explore themes of family life, immigration, and the complexities of living between two cultures. She is also a visual artist and has worked as a journalist and copywriter.
