Jessica Johns
Jessica Johns is a Cree writer, interdisciplinary artist, and member of Sucker Creek First Nation (Treaty 8) from northern Alberta. Her debut novel, Bad Cree (2023), blends dreamlike/magical-realist elements with family, grief, and Indigenous perspectives. Johns is a winner of the 2020 Writers' Trust Journey Prize and has published fiction, poetry, and nonfiction in numerous Canadian journals. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and has participated in multiple literary festivals and arts events.
