Cherie Dimaline is a Métis writer from the Georgian Bay Métis community in Ontario. She is best known for her award-winning young adult novel The Marrow Thieves (2017), and writes fiction and stories that centre Indigenous experiences, memory, and resilience. Dimaline has published novels, short story collections, and children’s books, has edited Indigenous-focused publications, and has served in roles such as writer-in-residence and literary editor.
