Monique Gray Smith is an award-winning Cree and Scottish Canadian author, speaker and consultant based in Victoria, British Columbia. She writes for children, young adults and adults, and her work focuses on resilience, healing, Indigenous identity and reconciliation. In addition to her writing career she has worked for many years in Indigenous health and education, including psychiatric nursing and curriculum design.
