Nan Gregory

Nan Gregory is a Canadian professional storyteller and author of award-winning children's books. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1944, she grew up in British Columbia. Gregory earned a bachelor's degree in theater from the University of British Columbia and became a professional storyteller in 1984. She has performed across Canada, the United States, Japan, and New Zealand. Inspired by her storytelling career, she began writing in 1995, with her first book, 'How Smudge Came,' receiving numerous awards. Gregory is also an accomplished artist, working with fabrics and paints. She currently resides in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and enjoys kayaking.
