Eugenie Fernandes is a prolific and celebrated Canadian children's book author and illustrator. Born in Long Island, New York, and daughter of comic book illustrator Creig Flessel, she graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1965. She has authored and illustrated over 100 books, known for her vibrant, nature-inspired art. She lives and works in a studio near Peterborough, Ontario.
