Deborah Hodge

Deborah Hodge is the author of more than thirty-five books for children. She specializes in writing about nature and ecology for young readers and enjoys using few words to explain big ideas. Many of her books have received awards and been published internationally, including recognition such as the Children’s Literature Roundtables of Canada’s Information Book Award, the Green Prize for Sustainable Literature, and an Honour Book distinction for the National Jewish Book Award for Children’s Literature. Before becoming an author she worked as a teacher and curriculum writer for the British Columbia Ministry of Education. She was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
