Robert Heidbreder

Robert Heidbreder is a Canadian children's poet and author who was born in Quincy, Illinois, in 1947. He moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1970, became a Canadian citizen in 1975, and worked as a primary school teacher for thirty years. His writing is known for its "fanciful rhyming text and diverse subject matter," and he has received critical acclaim and numerous awards for his work. Heidbreder's writing was inspired by his desire to introduce children to a "liveliness of language that matched their natural bounce, energy, imagination and playfulness."
