Tasha Alexander is an American author of historical mystery fiction, known for her long-running Lady Emily Series. Born Anastasia Gutting in South Bend, Indiana, she was inspired to write her first novel by Dorothy L. Sayers's "Gaudy Night." Her novels are meticulously researched and often feature strong female protagonists navigating historical settings. Alexander studied English Literature and Medieval History at the University of Notre Dame. She is married to British crime novelist Andrew Grant.
