Merryn Allingham
Merryn Allingham was born into an army family and spent her childhood moving around the UK and abroad. She escaped a secretarial career in her twenties to work as cabin crew, traveling the world. After settling in the south of England, she pursued higher education, earning a PhD in English Literature and teaching at university. Allingham's writing career began with Regency romances, but she later moved to historical fiction, often incorporating mystery and suspense. Her work spans various genres, including cozy mysteries, historical romances, wartime sagas, and timeslip novels. She is known for bringing the past to life, with a particular interest in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Allingham lives in Sussex with her husband and cats.
