Stephanie Thurow is a food preservation instructor, author, certified Master Food Preserver, and freelance writer based in Minnesota. She is known for her expertise in canning and fermentation, and has authored several bestselling books on the subject, including "Can It & Ferment It," "WECK Small-Batch Preserving," and "WECK Home Preserving." She also co-authored "Small-Scale Homesteading." Thurow runs the blog "Minnesota from Scratch" and teaches food preservation classes. Her passion for fermentation began in childhood, stemming from a love for kimchi. She lives with her family and pets on an urban homestead near Minneapolis.
