Brenda Scott Royce
Brenda Scott Royce is an award-winning author and former chimpanzee caregiver with a passion for combining her love of animals and books. She has written over 30 children's books, including titles for National Geographic Kids, Animal Planet, and the Smithsonian. Her novels, such as "Monkey Love" and "Monkey Star," often feature animal-related themes and comedic elements. Royce also scripted episodes for the Disney Junior series "Chuggington." She holds a master's degree in conservation biology and has traveled extensively to study primates in their natural habitats. She has also served as the editor of "Zoo View," the Los Angeles Zoo's award-winning magazine, for over 20 years. Her book "Angela & Lulingu: Two Gorillas, A World Apart" received multiple awards in 2024, including a silver Nautilus Award and a gold medal at the Next Generation Indie Book Awards.
