Emily Foster was a writer and editor, known for her historical works on Ohio. She also wrote romance novels under a pen name. She had a career as a grant writer and administrator before moving into freelance writing and working as a senior editor for Columbus Monthly magazine. She also held positions at Steiner-Lesic Communications and Ohio State University. Foster was also a sex educator and author of nonfiction on women's sexual well-being, writing under her own name, Emily Nagoski.
