Sarah Henstra is a Canadian writer and academic, specializing in 20th-century British fiction. She is an Associate Professor of English at Toronto Metropolitan University. Henstra is the author of five books, including the 2018 Governor General's Award-winning novel, The Red Word. Her other works include Mad Miss Mimic, We Contain Multitudes, and The Lost Tarot. Her scholarly monograph, The Counter-Memorial Impulse in Twentieth-Century English Fiction, was published in 2009. Henstra's work often explores themes of gender, power, and mythology, and she has received grants and fellowships from various arts councils and institutions. She was born in British Columbia and currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
