
Alison Griffiths
Alison Griffiths is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Baruch College, The City University of New York and the CUNY Graduate Center. She is an internationally recognized scholar whose work focuses on film history, visual studies, and media theory, with significant contributions to the fields of anthropology, cultural history, cinema studies, nineteenth-century visual culture, and new media studies. Griffiths has received grants and fellowships, including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2018, and holds degrees from Leicester University, the University of London, and New York University. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
