Kathryn Shay is a lifelong writer and teacher who lives in upstate New York. She began writing at fifteen and pursued her dream of becoming a writer, eventually selling her first book to Harlequin Superromance in 1994. Shay is known for her powerful characterizations and emotional writing, with millions of copies of her books in print. She has won numerous awards, including five RT Book Reviews awards, four Golden Quills, and four Holt Medallions. Her work has been featured in publications like Cosmopolitan, The Wall Street Journal, and People magazine. Despite her writing success, Shay also had a successful career as a teacher, retiring in 2004. She continues to write contemporary romance novels, often featuring strong female characters in challenging situations.
