The Rosie Project

Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, decides it's time to find a wife. He approaches this quest in his characteristic orderly, evidence-based manner, designing a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey—The Wife Project—to filter out unsuitable candidates such as drinkers, smokers, and the habitually late. Rosie Jarman, a psychology PhD student, walks into his life and is immediately disqualified as she possesses all of the qualities he is trying to eliminate. However, Don is intrigued by Rosie's own quest to identify her biological father. He agrees to help her with The Father Project, and their collaboration involves a series of madcap adventures collecting DNA samples. This unlikely partnership forces Don, who exhibits characteristics of undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome, to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie and the realization that love is not a science that can be solved with a questionnaire, but rather something that finds you.
