Janette Oke
Janette Oke (née Steeves; born February 18, 1935) is a Canadian author best known for inspirational historical fiction set in pioneer-era North America. Her debut novel Love Comes Softly (1979) launched a prolific career writing novels centered on faith, family, and female protagonists; several of her works (notably When Calls the Heart) have been adapted for television.
