Drew Daywalt is an American author and filmmaker best known for his #1 New York Times bestselling children's picture book The Day the Crayons Quit and its sequels. He began his career writing and directing short films and writing for animation, later moving into children's literature where his humorous, voice-driven picture books have sold millions of copies worldwide. He lives in Southern California with his family.
