Ian Falconer

Ian Woodward Falconer (1959–2023) was an American author, illustrator, and set and costume designer. He is best known for creating the bestselling 'Olivia' children's book series, which began as a Christmas gift for his niece. Before his success in children's literature, he had a distinguished career in theater and opera design, often collaborating with artist David Hockney, and created over 30 covers for The New Yorker.
