Jean Catherine Coulter (born December 26, 1942) is an American novelist best known for romantic suspense thrillers and historical romances. She has written numerous bestsellers, including the FBI Thrillers featuring Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock, and began publishing in 1978. Coulter grew up on a horse ranch in Cameron County, Texas, earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and a master's degree in early 19th-century European history from Boston College. She has lived in northern California (Mill Valley/Sausalito).
