Thomas Kinkade (1958–2012) was an American painter and author best known for his luminous, idealized landscapes and mass-market prints. Branded as the "Painter of Light," Kinkade built a large commercial art business producing paintings, books, calendars, and licensed merchandise that reached a wide popular audience. He also authored and illustrated numerous books showcasing his artwork and seasonal scenes.
