Karen Essex
Karen Essex is an American novelist, screenwriter, journalist and biographer best known for historical novels that explore art, power and female lives. Her novels include Leonardo's Swans, Stealing Athena, Kleopatra, Pharaoh and Dracula in Love. An award-winning journalist and screenwriter, she has co-authored the biography Bettie Page: The Life of a Pin-Up Legend and has been published in outlets such as Vogue, Playboy and L.A. Weekly. She was born and raised in New Orleans and divides her time between New Orleans, Los Angeles and Europe.
