Margaret George is an American historical novelist known for her meticulously researched, epic fictional biographies of famous historical figures, including Henry VIII, Mary Queen of Scots, Cleopatra, and Elizabeth I. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she spent much of her childhood living overseas due to her father's work in the U.S. Foreign Service. She holds degrees from Tufts University and Stanford University and previously worked as a science writer before establishing herself as a bestselling author.
