Ralph Helfer

Ralph Helfer (born April 9, 1931) is an American animal trainer, ethologist and author best known for founding Africa U.S.A. and for his books about animals (including Modoc and Zamba). He pioneered an "affection training" approach to working with animals and supplied trained animals for film and television. Later in life he turned to writing and leads safari tours in Kenya and elsewhere.
