Candace Fleming

Candace Groth Fleming (born May 24, 1962) is an American author of award-winning picture books, middle-grade fiction, and nonfiction for children and young adults. She has written more than thirty books, including acclaimed biographies and history titles that have won or been honored by the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the Sibert Medal. Fleming lives in a suburb of Chicago and previously taught at William Rainey Harper College before writing full time.
