Maude Barlow

Maude Victoria Barlow (born May 24, 1947) is a Canadian author and activist known for her work on water rights, environmental protection and public policy. She is a founding member and former chair of The Council of Canadians and co-founder of the Blue Planet Project. Barlow has authored numerous books on water, globalization and public policy, has served as Senior Advisor on Water to the President of the UN General Assembly (2008–2009), and has received awards including the Right Livelihood Award.
