Michael Ignatieff
Michael Grant Ignatieff (born May 12, 1947) is a Canadian author, historian, academic and former politician. He has held senior academic posts at Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and the University of Toronto, served as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and leader of the Opposition (2008–2011), and was rector and president of Central European University (2016–2021). Ignatieff is the author of numerous books on history, human rights and politics and is known for his work as a public intellectual and broadcaster.
