Alice Hoffman (born March 16, 1952) is an American novelist and writer of young-adult and children’s fiction. Her work frequently blends realism with the supernatural and magical elements. She is the author of more than thirty novels, including Practical Magic, The Dovekeepers, and The World That We Knew, and has written extensively for both adult and young readers.
