Janelle Brown (born September 12, 1973) is an American novelist and essayist. She is the author of several novels including Watch Me Disappear (2017) and Pretty Things (2020). A former journalist who worked at Wired and Salon.com and a co-founder of the online zine Maxi, Brown's fiction often explores family dynamics, secrets, and the psychological tensions underlying domestic life. She lives in Los Angeles.
