Mason Cross is a Scottish author best known for the Carter Blake thriller series. His debut novel, The Killing Season (2014), was longlisted for the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year; subsequent Carter Blake novels include The Samaritan, Winterlong (published in the US title for The Time to Kill), Don’t Look For Me and Presumed Dead. He has also published the standalone thriller What She Saw Last Night and short crime fiction in magazines such as Ellery Queen. He lives in Scotland and has appeared at multiple crime-writing festivals.
