Richard Russo
Richard Russo (born July 15, 1949) is an American novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter, and teacher. He is best known for realistic, compassionate portrayals of small-town life in the Northeastern United States. His novel Empire Falls won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Several of his works, including Nobody's Fool and Empire Falls, have been adapted for film and television. Russo has published multiple novels, short-story collections, and a memoir, and has taught at the university level.
