Eric Carle
Eric Carle (June 25, 1929 – May 23, 2021) was an American author, designer, and illustrator best known for his brightly colored collage illustrations and enduring picture books such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. Over a career spanning more than five decades he wrote and illustrated more than 70 books and co-founded the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts.
