Paul Almond
Paul Almond (born David Paul MacPherson Almond) was a Canadian television and film director, producer, screenwriter and novelist. After a distinguished career in television and film — including directing the original Seven Up! documentary and the feature films Isabel and The Act of the Heart — he turned to fiction and authored the multi-volume Alford Saga, historical novels set around his ancestral Gaspé Peninsula. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2001 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Directors Guild of Canada in 2007.
