Bernard Cornwell

Bernard Cornwell (born 23 February 1944) is an English author best known for his historical novels, notably the Sharpe series about Richard Sharpe and The Saxon Stories (The Last Kingdom series). Born in London and raised in Thundersley, Essex, he worked in television before becoming a full-time novelist. Cornwell's books often blend richly researched historical settings with fictional protagonists and include endnotes discussing historical accuracy. He has sold millions of copies worldwide and several of his works have been adapted for television.
