Joy Fielding (née Tepperman; born March 18, 1945) is a Canadian novelist and former actress best known for bestselling psychological suspense novels such as See Jane Run and Kiss Mommy Goodbye. Born and raised in Toronto, she graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in English and transitioned from a brief acting career to full‑time writing in the 1970s. Her books, often set in large North American cities, focus on character-driven suspense and have been translated into many languages; several titles have been adapted for screen or foreign markets. She divides her time between Toronto and Palm Beach, Florida.
