Amanda Peters
Amanda Peters is a Mi'kmaq and settler-ancestry Canadian writer from Falmouth, Nova Scotia. Her debut novel, The Berry Pickers, was published in 2023 to critical acclaim and won multiple awards; her short story collection Waiting for the Long Night Moon was published in 2024. Her fiction has appeared in literary journals and she has received recognition from the Indigenous Voices Awards and other Canadian literary programs. Peters has studied creative writing (University of Toronto certificate) and holds an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts; she has also completed a master's in library and information studies at Dalhousie University and has worked in or been associated with academic and literary communities in Nova Scotia.
