Josephine Cox (née Brindle) was a prolific British novelist best known for bestselling family sagas and generational dramas that drew on her upbringing in Blackburn, Lancashire. She began publishing in the 1980s (also writing under the name Jane Brindle), authored more than 50 books over a multi-decade career, and was frequently among the UK’s most-borrowed authors. Her work sold millions of copies worldwide.
