Jan-Philipp Sendker
Jan-Philipp Sendker (born 1960) is a German journalist and novelist. Born in Hamburg, he worked for Stern as an America and Asia correspondent before returning to Germany to write fiction. His debut novel Das Herzenhören (The Art of Hearing Heartbeats) became an international bestseller after being published in the United States. He lives in Germany and has published several novels and collections drawing on settings in Asia and themes of love, memory, and family.
