Paula McLain

Paula McLain is an American author best known for her New York Times bestselling historical fiction novels, including The Paris Wife, Circling the Sun, and Love and Ruin. Born in Fresno, California, she spent much of her childhood in the foster care system, an experience she detailed in her memoir, Like Family: Growing Up in Other People's Houses. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Michigan and has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Yaddo, and the MacDowell Colony.
