Carolyn Jess-Cooke (publishing as C. J. Cooke) is a Northern Irish poet, novelist and academic. Born in Belfast, she has published multiple novels (including The Nesting and The Lighthouse Witches) and work in poetry, and her books have been translated into many languages. She is Reader in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow, researches creative-writing interventions for mental health and has directed projects on the impact of motherhood on women’s writing.
