Anne-Marie Chapouton (1939–2000) was a prolific French children's author and translator. Born in Millau, she spent parts of her childhood in Tunisia, the Netherlands, and the United States. She earned a degree in French literature from Columbia University in New York. Upon returning to France in 1964, she settled in the Lubéron region and began writing stories for her daughter, eventually publishing over 200 works, including picture books, novels, and poetry for children.
