James McBride

James McBride is an acclaimed American author, journalist, musician, and screenwriter. He is best known for his landmark memoir, The Color of Water (1996), and his National Book Award-winning novel, The Good Lord Bird (2013). His work often explores themes of race, identity, and American history. He is a Distinguished Writer-in-Residence at New York University and was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2015.
