Giovanni Boccaccio

Giovanni Boccaccio was an Italian writer, poet, and Renaissance humanist, best known for his masterpiece, The Decameron. A key figure in 14th-century European literature, he was a close friend and correspondent of Petrarch and played a crucial role in the development of Italian vernacular prose and the promotion of classical studies.
