Robert A. Sobieszek
Robert A. Sobieszek was a prominent museum curator and author, best known for his work in photography. He served as the former curator of photography at the George Eastman House and later at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Sobieszek was recognized for championing the works of early American photographers and organizing numerous exhibitions. He also served as an expert witness in the Robert Mapplethorpe obscenity trial, arguing for the artistic merit of the photographs. He lectured and published widely on photography for over three decades.
